Decisions, Decisions

I need to select a project topic for my final course, individual paper. So far I like the sound of Environmental Ethics and Ecological Footprint. But being a marketing major, I'd like to somehow tie together an environmental topic, to marketing. After discussing this minor dilemma with my DU crew, they've offered up brilliant suggestions! 1) consider advertising for Florida, in a way similar to "Pure Michigan"; 2) promote something like plant based plastics; 3) Help with recommendations for promoting DU's service learning programs, especially ENV125. All great things to keep in mind as we explore during the days ahead. Another requirement is putting together a PowerPoint which identifies and describes 40 animal and/or plant species, from putting together a photo journal during our explorations. Just had a thought about the marketing aspect of my paper, and I think that I'd like to tie in "hands-on" training facts into the promotion of DU service learning programs.

In thinking and talking more with the group about my project today. I'm still tied between reducing our carbon footprint on earth, environmental ethics, and now, I cannot stop thinking about Noxema, lol. I want to tie my project to Marketing. My career is in Marketing, and my employer provides tuition reimbursement for my courses, so, for me, and for them, I want to make that happen, and I will. (nice run on sentence with too many commas, lol). I brought a little tub of Noxema with me on this trip, just a small travel size to wash my face with while away from home. This small tub though, has proved to be my favorite travel item of the trip though. It feels soooo good on sunburn. I completely forgot about this! After sharing this with all of our actual college age team members, they are like, "What's Noxema?" So, Linda, Charlie and I filled them in on it. How does Noxema tie into this trip you might wonder? Well, after cleaning up the sea turtle nesting grounds in Elliott Key, picking up plastic this, and plastic that, of EVERYTHING. I have a feeling that this could be an opportunity for one company, the makers of Noxema to reinvent themselves by introducing their product to today's youth, and changing their plastic materials.
